BOMA Achievements

Tuesday September 22, 2020 BOMA Toronto hosted their first (and hopefully the last) Virtual Certificate of Excellence Awards Ceremony, due to the current COVID-19 Pandemic. We are pleased to announce that Northam was represented not once but five times. We had five buildings entered and each building won two awards (see below) for the Certificate of Excellence and The Outstanding Building of the Year (TOBY) Award in their respective categories. We are delighted to share the standard of excellence that this represents.

The official announcement from BOMA can be found on BOMA Toronto’s Instagram page.

The BOMA Certificate of Excellence is a certification program that involves many months of preparation by all building staff. Competitors must meet and exceed standards in building management, operations and design, tenant relations and community impact, energy management and conservation, emergency preparedness, environmental, regulatory and sustainability initiatives, and training of building personnel.

The Outstanding Building of the Year is awarded to the highest scoring building in each category of the Certificate of Excellence,  within the Toronto Area. This award is commonly known as the Oscar of the Commercial Real Estate Industry and comes with a great deal of prestige. The winners of this category will now proceed from the Toronto, Ontario level to BOMA Canada’s National level to compete with others across the country in October.

We are incredibly proud of these accomplishments and wish to commend; Hao Le, Helina Rajput and their team for winning the Certificate of Excellence and The Outstanding Building of the Year (TOBY) award in the Suburban Office Park – Mid Rise category (55, 105, and 150 CVD).

Helina Rajput, Hao Le and their team for winning the Certificate of Excellence and The Outstanding Building of the Year (TOBY) award in the Office Building 100,000 Sq. Ft. (235 Yorkland).

Natalie Presot, Caroline De Barra, Sonia Russo, Chris Federchuk and their teams for winning the Certificate of Excellence and The Outstanding Building of the Year (TOBY) award in the Historical Building category (Queen’s Quay Terminal).

We salute all of the hard work and diligent preparation that went into these competitive submissions while upholding the Northam standard within our industry. Finally I would like to also thank Ashley Pablo Mota and Stan Jones for their hard work and dedication in making it come together.

Congratulations to all on a job well done!
